Local library N1 in Koghb

Local library N1 in Koghb, Tavush region, has been reconstructed due to the financial aid of Iranian Armenian aviation engineer Avo Hovhannisyan and his wife. The windows, doors and the floor have been reconstructed, the library has been equipped with modern shelves. 17 year-old Shant, the Hovhannisyans’s  son, was a swimming champion in Iran. In 1989 at the age of 17 he died in an accident in Nor Jugha. Avo Hovhannisyan is a book addict, he highly appreciates the role of Armenian literature in the process of preserving the nation. Hovhannisyan has donated a great number of valuable manuscripts and books to Matenadaran, the National Library and other libraries. Before the reconstruction Koghb library had 14450 pieces of books, Avo hovhannisyan donated 350 more books at the solemn ceremony, 120 books were donated by the National Museum. Vanik Santryan presented the newly reconstructed library with 11 books written by himself. In regard with the reconstruction of the library Arsen Aghababyan, Koghb community head, thanked Avo and Jenya Hovhannisyans. The librarian Gayane Kocharyan said that Koghb residents are fond of reading, adding that their number will increase after the reconstruction of the library.
