Koghb Open Chess Tournament

On 9th of April 2012, Koghb Open Chess Tournament started at Cultural Center of Koghb. The event gathered 16 participants from Koghb, Noyemberyan, Jujevan, Bagratashen, Alaverdi and Shnogh. Gagik Khasikyan from Koghb scored 5.5 points out of possible 7 and won the Swiss-system Tournament. Avetik Vardanyan and Arayik Babayan from Alaverdi came 2nd and 3rd with 5 points each. The tournament was sponsored by the Headman of Koghb Arsen Aghababyan. All participants got souvenirs and diplomas and a banquet was organised.

The chess tourmnament has become a tradition and this was the 5th time it was organised. Artash Amirghanyan and Gagik Khasikyan have won it twice and Arman Chilingaryan once.
